China's January-May grain imports total 6.22 million tonnes

 

 

From January to May, the grain imports of China rise 377.3% on-year to 6.22 million tonnes, the Ministry of Agriculture said.

 

The country's net imports of grain totalled 5.63 million tonnes.

 

In the same period the value of the country's grain imports totalled US$2.13 billion, up 295.6% from the same period of last year.

 

Meanwhile it exported 586,000 tonnes of grain worth US$360 million, up 19.1% and 11.1% on-year, respectively.
