West Australia ASX wheat futures start remains in limbo

A listing date for the Western Australia Wheat Futures and Options contract to be operated by ASX Ltd. is yet to be determined, the ASX said Tuesday (June 30).

The ASX remains committed to listing the contracts and will confirm a listing date once all necessary agreements are in place, it said in brief statement.

Dougal Hunter, ASX's manager of agricultural derivatives, said he hopes it won't be too long before a listing date can be issued.

"I'm hoping weeks rather than months now," he told Dow Jones Newswires.

ASX has already postponed a planned listing date in late May.
