US chlorine prices down on sluggish buying
Tickling in the US markets this week, sluggish buying interest from producers of EDC and PVC, kept the downward pressure on spot prices of chlorine.
FOB US gulf prices of chlorine were assessed down at the US$180/tonne mark, a week on week decline of US$10/tonne.
A trader a polymer update team member spoke with said, "Sentiments are weak not only in the PVC markets in the US, but across the world markets. Adding to the bearish fundamentals is the fact that supply of PVC is ample. This is also contributing toward the bearish pricing pressures in chlorine and PVC."
