Ukraine's meat production rises 25 percent on-year

 

 

Ukraine's meat output in slaughter weight, including subproducts, grew by 24.7 percent on-year to 327,026 tonnes in the first five months of 2007, the Cabinet said.

 

In May 2007, the country's meat processing sector marked a rise in output of 1.4 percent on-month and 20.6 percent on-year to 69,126 tonnes.

 

In April 2007, meat production in Ukraine fell by 1.5 percent on-month to 68,145 tonnes.

 

Ukraine's 2006 meat output totalled 684,269 tonnes, up by 19.8 percent against a year earlier.

 

Overall, Ukraine's meat output is expected to rise 10 percent for 2007, according to the Ukrainian Agriculture Policy Ministry.
