Bird flu found in the Ukraine
Authorities in Ukraine have culled 7,000 birds to halt the spread of bird flu in its latest outbreak.
The outbreak in Burinskiy region involved 335 cases of bird flu, including 68 hens, 23 ducks, and 244 geese, according to Dr. Ivan Yuriyovych Bisyuk, head and chief veterinary officer of the Department for Veterinary Medicine.
Up to 10,000 birds may be affected.
Bisyuk said the outbreak resulted from contact with wild birds.
Authorities have imposed stricter control measures over wildlife reservoirs and implemented a depopulation and quarantine programme. Poultry movement have also been restricted inside the country.
