Zinc futures rise 0.34% on high demand
Amid a firming trend in the entire base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange, Zinc grew 0.34% to INR103.20 (US$1.81) per kilogramme in futures trade Tuesday (June 26) on good domestic demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in June gained INR0.35 (US$0.01), or 0.34%, to INR103.20 (US$1.81) per kilogramme, with a trading volume of 696 lots.
July zinc added INR0.30 (US$0.005), or 0.29%, to INR103.80 (US$1.82) per kilogramme, with a trade turnover of 74 lots. Zinc rose 0.44% to US$1,813 per tonne at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
Analysts said a firming trend in copper and other base metals at the LME, in tandem with pick-up in spot markets demand pushed up zinc futures prices.
