Even as releases increased, hog prices remained upbeat last week due to the strong demand for pork before Dragon Boat Festival. In the major wholesale centres, carcass trade increased almost 5% to 8,967 tonnes. After the festive holidays, waning demand weakened the prices of hog in some regions.
