PIC renews Japanese contract and celebrates 25-year link
Genetics company PIC and Iwatani International Corporation (IIC) have signed a new agreement to continue their partnership in Japan, which has lasted for a quarter of a century.
The cooperation between the two companies have yielded specialized breeding males and females meeting the exacting requirements of the Japanese market,
Recent data from customer farms show 28.37 pigs weaned per sow per year and 166 days to market at 103kg.
These achievement, combined with new sales programmes, are driving increasing demand for PIC breeding stock in Japan, where sales volumes have gone up by 17 percent in the last 12 months, the company said.
