China imports less methionine in May
China's methionine imports in May totalled 6,713 tonnes, down 2,349 tonnes from April.
For the period from January to May 2006, China's methionine imports totalled 33,471 tonnes worth about US$69.83 million.
Combined import volume from Germany and Belgium totalled 2,840 tonnes, down 2,859 tonnes compared with the previous month.
Imports from Japan reached 2,707 tonnes, up by over 200 tonnes from April.
China's methionine imports from France rose by 260 tonnes from the previous month to reach 1,040 tonnes.
