Fishmeal imports in China down in May
China imported 85,778 tonnes of fishmeal in May, down 16.9 percent from April, and a 30 percent fall from the same period last year.
Imports in May came mostly from:
Peru: 40,767 tonnes;
Chile: 24,773 tonnes;
US: 6,884 tonnes.
For the period from January to May 2006, China's fishmeal imports totalled 408,755 tonnes, down 22 percent on-year.
