US company introduces soy and meat hybrid

 

 

A US company said it has perfected the technology that would allow a mixture of vegetable and meat protein that offers the same taste and texture of beef but at much healthier levels.

 

SoleCina, the latest addition to The Solae Company's soy protein ingredient innovation, was the result of 10 years of research work.

 

The company said its soy products are made juicer and more succulent through improved moisture retention. When used in ground meat products, they enhance product quality and nutrition, the company said.

 

SoleCina is a blend of vegetable and meat protein with the consistency of cooked, whole-muscle meat, according to a news release.

 

The final product mimics the taste and appearance of beef strips, chunks, patties, or steaks, but with much lower calories, fat, and cholesterol, the press release stated.
