China's wheat sales accumulate to 3.4 million tonnes

The State Administration of Grain has released a statistics showing that an accumulated total of 3.40 million tonnes of newly produced wheat from major production regions has been purchased through the year to date as of June 15, Global Times reported.

This figure is based on grain enterprises in nine major wheat growing regions, including Hebei, Shanxi, Jiangsu, Anhui, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Sichuan and Shaanxi provinces.

The National Development and Reform Commission reaffirmed the minimum price of wheat on May 24, declaring that white, red and mixed wheat must be sold at no less than CNY2.04 (US$0.32) per kilogramme, the newspaper reported.
