Norway to temporarily increase its milk quotas in 2012
A temporary increase in milk quotas for this year has been decided by the Norwegian Ministry for Agriculture and Food as well as allowing all farmers to increase their production by 3%.
The aim is to avoid the same situation as in 2011, when there was shortage of butter.
The quota increase has been requested by dairy company Tine.
Already in March, the quotas were increased by 3%, but this has proved not sufficient.
