Brunei launches new co-op to develop aquaculture
Brunei would soon see a new co-operative specialising in shrimp and tropical fish production to boost its aquaculture industry.
The cooperative, known as Koperasi Bersatu Ternakan Udang and Ikan Tropika Berhad of Temburong, is a project of LiveWire Brunei, and is part of the social investment agenda of Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP).
The aquaculture farm would be ocated on a 200-acre land in Kg Selangan. The project was initiated following the interest of the Kampung Selangan community members in the aquaculture industry.
Aquaculture has been identified as a potential industry generator in Brunei.
