Vacci-Test raw beef E. coli test receives US approval

 
 

The AOAC Research Institute, the approval body for all US food safety tests, has certified Vacci-Test's FoodChek-E.Coli as a Performance TestedSM method for detecting E.coli in raw ground beef.

 

The new test is quick and accurate, and the approval clears the way for FoodChek-E.Coli to be sold as a certified food safety test in the US and internationally.

 

FoodChek-E.Coli, which is 50 times more sensitive than PCR methods, utilises magnetic nanotechnology and an inexpensive easy-to-use magnetic reader that help provide a sensitive and quantitative result in much shorter testing times.

 

Vacci-Test is a privately held Canadian corporation based in Calgary, Alberta that specialises in the development and commercialisation of proprietary food safety tests, based on magnetic nanotechnology, for the rapid, accurate detection and quantitative measurement of pathogens in food.
