Taiwan BSPA buys 58,000 tonnes US soy for Aug-Sep shipment

Taiwan's Breakfast Soybean Procurement Association bought 58,000 tonnes of soy from Bunge at US$3.43 a bushel over Chicago Board of Trade's November futures contract, a BSPA trader said Thursday (June 25).

The shipments are expected to arrive in Taiwan between August 21 and September 4.

"We are not sure when the next tender will be," the trader said. "We will continue to monitor the market, but prices are now quite high and we are covered, so we will likely wait until August or September, when the US new crop is available."
