USDA says 349,504 tonnes of corn sold to Japan

The US Department of Agriculture announced Friday (Jun 23) private export sales of 349,504 tonnes of US corn for delivery to Japan. Of that total, 105,664 tonnes are for delivery in the 2005/06 marketing year and 243,840 tonnes are for delivery in the 2006/07 marketing year.

The corn marketing year begins Sep 1.

US exporters are required to report to the USDA sales of 100,000 tonnes or more of corn made in the same day to the same destination by 3 pm EDT (1900 GMT) the next business day, according to the USDA.
