US frozen poultry stocks rise 6% in May

 

 

The USDA's monthly Cold Storage report shows that on May 31, total frozen poultry supplies in the US were up 6% from the previous month and up 5% from a year ago.

 

Total stocks of chicken were up 2% from the previous month and up 6% from last year. Total pounds of turkey in freezers were up 14% from last month and up 4% from May 31, 2012.

 

Total frozen red meat supplies were down 6% from the previous month but up 1% from last year.

 

Total pounds of beef in freezers were down 6% from the previous month and down 4% from last year.

 

Frozen pork supplies were down 6% from the previous month but up 4% from last year. Stocks of pork bellies were down 3% from last month and down 17% from last year.
