Ukraine's grain inventory likely to soar to 12 million tonnes
By the end of June, the grain stocks of Ukraine will surge by almost threefold to 12 million tonnes, stated Deputy Agriculture Minister Mykola Bezuhlyi.
Stocks were 4.3 million tonnes as of July 1, according to state statistics office data.
Farmers will harvest 48 million to 49 million tonnes of grains this year, Bezuhlyi told reporters in Kiev, the capital, according to a statement published on the government website. Exports in the marketing year from July 1 may rise to as much as 27 million tonnes, he said.
