JBS facility to face continual strikes
A JBS meat processing facility in central Queensland, Australia, is expected to face continual strikes on its grounds.
About 60 union members met on Friday (June 22) and voted to continue weekly stoppages.
The JBS Fitzroy plant's 500 employees undertook protected industrial action after 12 months of enterprise bargaining agreements stalled.
Workers are campaigning for a 4% annual pay rise, but the company is only willing to offer 3%.
The parties will meet Monday (June 25) to continue negotiations.
Australian Meat Industry Employees Union Queensland secretary, Brian Crawford, says the union members are frustrated that they aren't paid as much as workers at other plants in Rockhampton.
