Wheat crops damaged by storm in US state

A few farmers in the Hartline, Washington area said they have lost hundreds of acres of wheat from Wednesday (June 23) evening's hail storm.

The storm hit around 8 p.m. Wednesday night and dropped pea to marble-sized hail. It obliterated hundreds of acres of crop in a fast-moving storm. Tens of thousands of dollars of wheat were lost.

The storm also damaged crops in the Coulee City area. Russell Dingman, a farmer in the area said he lost 200 acres of wheat near Hartline. He also said that the hail storm will not put him out of business, but might cause him some losses.
