Danish slaughter pig prices to rise above expectation

The price of slaughter pigs in Denmark is forecast to rise more than previously expected, according to the Danish Agriculture and Food Council (Landbrug & Fødevarer).

The price is forecast to rise by DKK0.50 (US$0.083) per kg over last year's price to an average of DKK9.45 (US$1.57) per kg. For a farmer with 10,000 pigs, this means an annual revenue increase of DKK250,000 (US$41,419.90).
