Banham Poultry turnover to exceed GBP85 million
Banham Poultry, a UK poultry producer, expects its turnover this year to exceed GBP85 million (US$139 million) after selling its composting operations to focus on the core chicken business.
Company directors have decided to focus on the group's chicken rearing and selling operations, and that the turnover estimation exceeded 2007's GBP70.1 million (US$115 million).
Banham has confirmed the sale of Banham Compost to TEG, the environmental and waste reprocessing group based in Chorley, Lancashire, for about GBP1.9 million (US$3.1 million). The deal will see TEG also taking on a GBP1.2 million (US$2 million) asset finance facility.
This deal follows Banham's sales of the Clay Hall Farm and Carleton Rode.
Banham Poultry supplies chicken to major supermarkets, and other established stores and wholesalers throughout the UK.
