Azerbaijan expected to produce 2.5 million tonnes of grain this year

Azerbaijan's deputy minister of agriculture Ilham Guliyev said that the country's grain production is expected to hit 2-2.5 million tonnes this year.

In early 2014, 633,000 tonnes of grain were reaped in over 300,000 hectares in Azerbaijan, despite some regions being damaged by hail. Azerbaijan mainly produces wheat, corn, rice and barley, of which wheat and barley each accounts for about one-third of cultivated lands.
