US inventory of frozen chickens, eggs down; turkey up

 
 

The inventories for frozen poultry meat and eggs have dropped compared to last year, while turkey stock have increased slightly, according to the USDA's latest cold storage report.

 

Total frozen poultry supplies at the end of May were down three million pounds from April, and down four percent from last year, the report said.

 

Total chicken stocks fell nearly 17 million pounds from the previous month to 642 million pounds, and were down 15 percent from last year, the report said. Frozen egg stocks were up 16 percent on-month to 21.2 million pounds.

 

Frozen turkeys increased two percent from the previous month to 585 million pounds, which is also up about 63 million pounds from last year.
