Hawaii's pork production drops by 8 percent
Pork production is Hawaii is down 8 percent from 338, 000 pounds produced in March last year to 312,000 pounds in March this year.
Total hog kill of 2,000 head is 300 less than a year ago while average live weight per head, at 206 pounds, was 5 percent heavier than a year ago.
Year-to-date pork production for the first three months of 2005 was 10 percent less than the same period in 2004.
