The north-west monsoons have reached the country's soy-growing areas, according to the latest update given by the Indian meteorological department (IMD).
The monsoon is expected to be weak for the next three days. This was said by the weather officials on Monday (June 21). This would not impact the soy crops much thanks to the heavy pre-monsoon showers.
Weather officials said that by Friday (June 25), the monsoons are expected to catch more momentum and cover the whole of India.
South West monsoon has covered half of the country and soy farmers have already started to sow their crops, said A. S. Chandel, Director at the Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA) in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
