Indonesia to export more fish in 2007
Indonesia's fish export volume is expected to reach 1.6 million tonnes in 2007, up from 1.01 million tonnes last year, according to Maritime and Fisheries Minister Freddy Numberi.
The country's 2007 fish export value is forecast at US$2.3 billion, a 10 percent increase from US$2.08 billion in 2006.
Numberi said Indonesian fish sales to external markets have been rising since 2004, with major export items including frozen shrimp, canned tuna, skipjack and pelagic fishes.
