Thailand's dairy industry to receive aid from New Zealand
An assistance programme would soon be launched to develop quality dairy farms in Thailand, and to prepare dairy farmers for the opening of the Thai market to New Zealand's dairy imports on July 1.
The Thai government reports that a demonstration farm would be established to ensure production of high-quality dairy products, while New Zealand would provide knowledge, technical support and marketing assistance to Thai farmers.
Improving Thai dairy product quality would allow domestic farmers to raise their competitiveness against dairy imports from countries such as Australia, as well as to facilitate expansion to other foreign markets.
