Vietnam's Ca Mau fertiliser plant generates 200,000 tonnes urea
During the past four months since being operational, Vietnam's Ca Mau urea fertiliser plant has produced 200,000 tonnes of urea, said Van Tien Thanh, director of the plant.
Of the amount, the plant sold out 150,000 tonnes of its product to the local market, Thanh said.
The plant is expected to produce 640,000 tonnes of urea in 2012, equal to 80% of its designed capacity of 800,000 tonnes, Thanh noted.
The volume of urea produced by Ca Mau and Phu My plants will meet 80% of total urea demand in the Southeast Asian country, Thanh added.
Ca Mau urea fertiliser plant of the state-run Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) was built at a cost of US$900 million.
