Yemen and US discuss agriculture sector support
Yemen Undersecretary of Agriculture and Irrigation Minister Mohammed al-Ghashm held Sunday talks with the Regional Director of the US Agricultural Trade Office (ATO) Mohamed Tawhid al-Safy in Riyadh on the agriculture support provided by the ATO for Yemen.
During the meeting, they discussed implementation mechanism of this support through an agricultural project to be implemented during the current year to focus on activities in the areas of plant protection, animal health, agricultural extension, agricultural marketing and rural women's development and irrigation.
Earlier, Yemen and EU reviewed the legislations and conditions of regulating fish export from Yemen into EU countries.
Minister of Fisheries Mohammad Shamlan and the EU aquaculture expert Roland Van talked about issuing export certificates for the aquaculture products during their meeting.
Shamlan noted the significance of benefiting from the European experience in aquaculture field as well as ensuring the quality and safety of the fish products and their suitability for export.
