The poultry population rose in Ukraine by 10.287 million heads, as against March, to 185.172 million heads as of May 1, 2010.

In private farms, the poultry population went up by 9.7% or 7.667 million heads, and in specialised farms by 2.7% or 2.619 million heads.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in March the poultry population fell by 1.4% or 2.510 million heads, compared with February, to 174.885 million heads as of April 1, 2010.
