Minh Phu Seafood Corporation builds shrimp breeding company
Vietnam's Minh Phu Seafood Corporation (MPC) has set up a shrimp breeding company under the Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) standards.
With a registered capital of VND 20 billion (US$ 1,058,201.06), the Minh Phu Safe Shrimp Breeding Co. will raise shrimp in 318 hectares in Tam Giang Dong commune of Nam Can district.
MPC earned US$63.3 million from exporting 5,985 tonnes of shrimp in the first five months of 2010, up 44.31% and 46.04% on year, respectively.
The US was the biggest importer with US$31.4 million, followed by Japan with US$9.25 million and South Korea with US$8.98 million.
