Perdigao takes over Plusfood
Brazilian poultry giant Perdigao has acquired Dutch Plusfood group at a cost of EUR30 million (about US$40.183 million).
Known in Europe for its Friki brand, Plusfood boasts an annual turnover of EUR70 million through sales of chicken products in the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Germany and France.
Perdigao will also take over ownership of Plusfood's brand names Friki and Fribo.
Plusfood has three processing units producing some 20,000 tonnes of meat products, mainly poultry, each year.
The largest unit is located in Oosterwolde, the Netherlands, a hamburger unit is situated in Wrexham, UK, and the third unit is in Constanza, Romania.
Perdigao has an office in Den Bosch, the Netherlands, distributing about 17,000 tonnes of meat products into Europe every month.
