Bird flu remains in one location in Russia
 

 

Bird flu in Russia still persists in one location in the Omsk region as of Jun 21, compared with four locations on Jun 14 and six on Jun 7, the agriculture ministry said Wednesday (Jun 21). 

 

On Jun 14 bird flu was registered in three locations in the Omsk region and in one location in the Altai region. On Jun 7, there were four locations in the Omsk region and two in Altai.

 

Since Jan 1, 2006 Russia reported bird flu in a total of 90 locations in southern regions and Siberia. A total 1.382 million wild birds and poultry have been culled or  died from the disease to date.
