Russia's Razgulyay to double grain export this year

Razgulyay group, one of the leading agro-holdings of Russia, announced plans to double its grain export in 2008.

Igor Potapenko, company president, said this year Razgulyay will ship abroad 2 million tonnes of grain against 850,000 tonnes in 2007.

The export increase is in line with expansion plans of grain production within agrarian holding Razgulyay-Agro, currently being created by Razgulyay.

Potapenko noted that last year, the company harvested 150,000 tonnes of its own grain and this year it plans to increase wheat production to 187,000 tonnes.

Aside from increasing exports, the Russian company will also modernise and purchase enterprises to increase its share in some segments of the market.
