Ukraine aims to produce 60-70 million tonnes of grain annually
Ukraine is intending to achieve grain production of 60-70 million tonnes per year.
This was announced by Prime Minister Mykola Azarov at a meeting with French business representatives in Paris on Tuesday (Jun 11).
"We now produce around 53-54 million tonnes of grain. We are planning to achieve a level of 60-70 million tonnes, and further develop grain production at a rapid pace," he said.
Azarov noted that Ukraine has consumers for this grain, and there is also demand in the market.
He said that Ukraine had set a unique record in the current marketing year by exporting 26 million tonnes of grain.
