Russia exports 25.7 million tonnes grains since July 2011

Russia already exported 25.7 million tonnes of grains since the beginning of the agricultural year in July 1, 2011, said Ilya Shestakov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, on June 7.

I.Shestakov said that in particular, wheat volumes formed 20.4 million tonnes, barley - 3.2 million tonnes, corn - 1.8 million tonnes of the general export volumes.

The Deputy Minister of Agriculture said that the Ministry does not change the previously made forecast of grain production in the current year of 94 million tonnes, despite fears of the drought. These fears decreased after the rains in the Southern and the North Caucasian Districts.

According to I.Shestakov, at the end of agricultural year Russia may become one of the three world leaders in the sphere of wheat exports. The export volumes of the grain from the USA will total 27.5 million tonnes, from Russia - 21.2 million tonnes.

According to him, Egypt was the main consumers of Russian grains in the current year, which purchased 29.7% of the general exports. The share of Turkey totalled 11.3%, the EU - 9.3%, Saudi Arabia - 8.6%, Israel - 4.7%.
