Brazil expects highest growth for poultry meat production

     
              

Brazil's meat production is expected to be at its highest rate of growth for chicken during the next decade, according to forecasts from the country's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply.

 

Between 2011-2012 and 2021-2022, the annual growth rate for chicken is forecasted at 4.2%, ahead of projected growth of 2.1% a year for beef and 2.0% for pork.

 

Brazilian consumers are expected to show a growing preference for chicken, with domestic consumption expected to increase by 2.7% a year over the decade, ahead of 2.0% for beef and 1.8% for pork.
