China's Shanxi to tighten wheat purchase monitoring
Shanxi province in northern China will enhance the monitoring on wheat purchase this year to protect grain producers, operators and consumers, the Grain Administration of Shanxi Province said.
China's grain management department will ensure that companies have qualification to purchase wheat from peasants, give clear purchasing prices and quality standards.
The province will buy wheat at the state-regulated lowest purchasing prices in its major wheat production cities like Yuncheng, Linfen and Jinzhong to protect farmers.
The prices were pegged at RMB1.54 per kilogramme for white wheat, RMB1.44 per kg for red wheat, and RMB1.44 per kg for mixed wheat, which is in accordance with the national standards.
