Sumitomo to establish agrochemical firm in Europe
Japan's Sumitomo Chemical will set put up a subsidiary in either Poland or Hungary to market its herbicides and insecticides in Europe. Sumitomo Chemical already has 18 overseas sales bases, but this will be its first in Central Europe.
The new sales firm will cater farmers growing rapeseed and sunflowers in Eastern and Central Europe.
Overseas sales accounted for more than half of Sumitomo Chemical's agrochemicals business in the fiscal year ended March.
