Zambia aims to triple corn production in five years
Zambia targets a triple corn production at five million tonnes in the next five years, local journal Daily Mail reported on Monday (June 18).
Agriculture Minister Ben Kapita was quoted as saying that the Zambian government would support and promote measures to increase corn production per hectare.
Kapita urged farmers to adopt new farming technologies such as conservation farming, crop diversification and good land management.
Those technologies, according to Kaptia, would help improve soil fertility, decrease land degradation and ensure sustainable food production.
