Philippine corn inventory down in May

 

As of May 1, the total corn stock inventory was estimated at 230,800 tonnes, down 22.8 % from April 1's level of 299,100 tonnes, according to the Bureau of Agricultural Statistics. However, the volume is still 12.8 % more than the inventory of 204,700 tonnes in the same period in 2012.


Of the current stock level, about 22 % were with households and 77 % were in commercial warehouses. The rest were in depositories of the National Food Authority, the country's grain arm.
