Russia January-April wheat export value up 143.8%

 

 

During January-April of 2010, the foreign trade turnover of Russia totalled US$189.2 billion, up 143.8% as against the same period in 2009, including exports at US$124.6 billion (159.1%), and imports at US$64.6 billion (121.4%).

 

Export surplus remained positive at US$60 billion (in January-April of 2009 - US$25.1 billion), declared Russian Federal Service of State Statistics (Rosstat).

 

According to the data of Rosstat, in the reporting period of 2010, Russia exported food products and agricultural raw material at the sum of US$3.328 million (up 8.6%).

 

During four months of 2010, grain exports from Russia totalled 6.633 thousand tonnes, including 5.806 thousand tonnes of wheat and meslin (up 11.4% compared to January-April of 2009) and 678 thousand tonnes of barley.

 

Rapeseed exports from Russia totalled 22.1 thousand tonnes, sunflower seed exports – 3.2 thousand tonnes.
