South Korea's chicken prices rise on World Cup

The price of raw chicken in South Korea is increasing amid rising demand due to the World Cup.

A Hanaro Club discount store in Yangjae-dong, southern Seoul, said Thursday (June 17) that an 850-gram raw chicken is selling at 5,720 won (US$4.74) this week, up 8.5% from a week ago.

The prices of beef and pork in South Korea, however, remain unchanged.
