BASF appoints executives in Asia

BASF, the world's leading chemical company, has announced the appointments of several key positions in Asia. 

 

The appointments are part of the ongoing integration of Ciba, which BASF acquired earlier this year, and are effective July 1, 2009.

 

Chew Eng Soo will assume the role of Group Vice President for the newly established Paper Chemicals Asia Pacific Unit of BASF based in Singapore.  Chew is currently Group Vice President, Polyurethanes Asia Pacific. He joined BASF in 1999.

 

Melanie Maas-Brunner will succeed Chew Eng Soo as Group Vice President, Polyurethanes Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong. At present, Maas-Brunner is Director, Polyurethane Specialties Asia Pacific. She joined BASF in 1997.

 

Saik Aun Tan will assume the role of Group Vice President for the newly established Performance Chemicals Asia Pacific Unit based in Hong Kong. Currently, Tan is the Director, Business Management Acrylics Asia Pacific. He joined BASF in 2004.

 

Gops Pillay will assume the role of Group Vice President for the newly structured Dispersions & Pigments Asia Pacific Unit of BASF based in Hong Kong. At present, Pillay is Group Vice President, Dispersions Asia Pacific, and he joined BASF in 1995.
