Informa pegs 2007 US corn acres at 90.724 million

Private analytical firm Informa Economics estimated 2007/08 US planted corn acreage at 90.724 million acres with soybean planted acreage at 68.770 million, sources said Friday (Jun 15).

In March, the US Department of Agriculture estimated US corn planted acreage at 90.454 million acres with soybean planted acreage at 67.140 million.

Informa also estimated 2007 US spring wheat acres at 13.958 million acres and all cotton acres at 11.517 million acres.

In March, the USDA forecast spring wheat at 13.808 million acres and cotton at 12.147 million.

The USDA is scheduled to release an updated estimate of 2007 planted acreage on June 29.
