Cherkizovo to construct new pig breeding facility
   
  

Cherkizovo Group, a leading Russian meat producer, has commissioned the first module at its new pig breeding facility in the Tambov region.

 

The Tambov pig facility will consist of two modules that will have a total capacity to breed more than 200,000 pigs per year, with an expected annual production of 12,500 tonnes of live weight in each module.

 

The Group expects the first module to operate at full capacity by mid 2009. The second module is expected to be operational in the second half of the 2008 financial year and would reach full capacity by the second half of 2009 financial year.
