Saudi Arabia re-allows entry of Pakistan poultry products exports

Saudi Arabia has lifted the ban on import of poultry products from Pakistan after the World Health Organization has declared the latter free from bird flu.

Saudi Arabia embargoed Pakistani chicken meat and eggs on to growing concerns of bird flu outbreak.

Although the export of poultry products to Saudi Arabia has not been on a large scale, it had been earning millions of dollars of foreign exchange over the years.

The news of lifting of the ban was welcomed by Pakistan poultry exporters who expect the volume of exports to the kingdom to grow considerably as the country hopes to double its profit target from exports.
