Vietnam imports one million vaccines for blue ear disease

Vietnam imported one million doses of vaccines for the blue ear disease, the National Veterinary Company (Navetco) said in a Ho Chi Minh city seminar on June 12.

The veterinary department said that the vaccines will be provided to 15 provinces and cities in the Cuu Long delta and the south-east regions.

The China-made vaccine has been tested in four northern provinces of Ha Tay, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh and Thai Binh, Navetco said.

Scientists have previously reported that the viruses found on Vietnam pigs are similar to the highly toxic strain that cause the blue ear disease in China.

The Ho Chi Minh seminar discussed how to use the vaccines and share information and experiences on the prevention of the disease.
